A simple answer to “How much do I need?”
Whether you’re scaling a kitchen recipe, adjusting a hobby mixture, or preparing a larger quantity of something you already make, calculating each ingredient separately can be tedious. Scale My Mix is designed to make proportional scaling straightforward.
Three inputs. One scaled result.
Enter your ingredient
Enter the ingredient amount and select its measurement unit.
Set your batch sizes
Enter your original mix quantity and the new mix quantity you want to make.
Get your scaled result
Scale My Mix calculates the adjusted ingredient amount for your new batch size.
Doubling a batch? No mental math required.
Imagine an original 500 mL batch uses 100 g of an ingredient. If you’re making a 1,000 mL batch instead, the proportional amount becomes 200 g.
This is an illustrative scaling example, not a weight-to-volume conversion. Use compatible units for the original and new batch sizes.
Useful features, without the clutter
Scale up or down
Increase or decrease quantities using the same proportional approach.
Familiar units
Work with supported measurements including metric, US customary volume and weight units.
Clear input checks
Designed to flag missing or invalid entries, including incompatible original and new batch measurement types.
Simple interface
Focused on the calculation you need, rather than an elaborate recipe-management system.
Frequently asked questions
Does Scale My Mix work for smaller batches?
Yes. It can scale an ingredient quantity downward as well as upward, provided you enter valid original and new batch quantities.
Does it convert grams directly into milliliters?
No. Scaling a mixture is different from converting weight into volume. The original and new batch sizes should use compatible measurement types; converting between weight and volume generally requires information such as density.
Can I use it for something other than cooking?
The proportional calculations can also be useful for suitable hobby projects and measured mixtures. Follow any applicable safety instructions and do not use a simple scaling result as a substitute for specialized formulation guidance.
